La Vigne is a traditional Perigordian farmhouse built in local stone with a graceful sweeping red tiled roof. The property was lovingly restored some twenty years ago by its French owners as their family home. We have recently refurbished and upgraded the accommodation to modern standards.

The sun rises to the front of the gîte allowing you to enjoy breakfast on the terrace whilst appreciating the lovely view across the rolling, gentle countryside.

A tranquil oasis of orchards and fields surround the fermette and you can relax amid the secluded gardens or by the pool, that are for the sole use of the gîte.

By evening the sun is fully to the rear of the gîte and a further terrace is the ideal setting for you to dine al fresco by the side of the pool. The barbeque is situated to the side of this terrace with easy access to the kitchen.

The farmhouse offers a spacious and comfortable family home for up to 6 adults and 2 children under two years if sharing with their parents. Cots for young children are available on request.

As the accomodation is situated on one level there are no stairs to cause concern for either young children or guests with limited mobility.

Our own home is situated in a corner of the grounds, separate and private from the farmhouse. However, we are on hand to welcome you and ensure that all is properly prepared for you to enjoy your holiday from the moment you arrive.

The lounge, dining area and kitchen form one large open plan arena where family and friends can gather to share the holiday fun. It provides a relaxing place for wining and dining or simply relaxing with your feet up in front of the fire (not recommended in summer!). French windows give direct access to the covered terrace, garden and swimming pool.

The kitchen is fully fitted, including a full sized gas cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A generous supply of crockery, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils etc. are to hand along with all the smaller aids that make self-catering less of a chore!

A pleasant hallway leads off the lounge to the 3 double bedrooms, all of which have been refurbished with new beds, furniture and accessories. All linen and towels are supplied, but guests are asked to provide their own towels for use outside by the pool.

A good sized, newly fitted family shower room provides a large shower area, washbasin and toilet. There is also a second separate toilet. Hot water is supplied constantly and central heating is available during the low season.

The gîte is surrounded on three sides by garden and terraced areas. Large gates enclose the main entrance making the property safe and secure for small children.

A further garden, adjoining the pool area, offers a quiet, shady haven and an open space for the children to play or enjoy the swing.

The tiled swimming pool is 10x5 metres and has a full filtration system. Access to the shallow end is by broad steps which lead down gently into the water. The pool is situated directly to the rear of the gîte making it easier to supervise.

We emphasise that parents must be prepared to be in attendance at all times when the pool is in use. We wish you to enjoy a safe and therefore happy holiday! To this end a sonar safety system is operational when the pool is not in use.

We offer local information so that you may make the best possible use of your time. We have a range of daily outings and route-plans and knowledge of all the local markets and many excellent restaurants.
